Building plastic models is the most patient

I ever am in my whole life.

A single kit can have hundreds of tiny pieces,

and one of them might take me twenty

minutes just to sand smooth and paint correctly.

To most people, that sounds like torture.

To me, it's the opposite.

When I'm hunched over my desk with a tiny brush,

the rest of the world completely disappears.

There are no notifications, no worries,

just this one small part in front of me.

It's the closest thing I have to meditation.

In a life where everything moves so fast and wants my attention,

building something slowly, by hand, over many quiet evenings, feels almost rebellious.

The finished model is nice.

But honestly, the peaceful hours getting there are the real reward.
