On April 1st, 在4月1日，

watch out — it's April Fools' Day, 小心了——那是愚人节，

when people play harmless tricks on each other. 人们会互相开一些无伤大雅的玩笑。

"Look, there's a spider in your hair! “看，你头发里有只蜘蛛！

April Fool!" 愚人节！”

The tricks are silly, never mean. 这些恶作剧都很傻，绝不是恶意的。

A teacher might say, "No homework tonight!" 一位老师可能会说：“今晚没有作业！”

— and grin as her students cheer, before adding, "April Fools!" ——然后在学生们欢呼时咧嘴一笑，接着补充道：“愚人节！”

No one is quite sure how the holiday began. 没有人确切知道这个节日是如何开始的。
