Most holidays honor famous people or great events. 大多数节日都是为了纪念名人或重大事件。

But two American holidays honor people far closer to home — the ones who raised you. 但有两个美国节日是为了纪念与我们更亲近的人——那些养育我们的人。

The second Sunday in May is Mother's Day, 五月的第二个星期天是母亲节，

a day to thank mothers for their love 这是一个感谢母亲们付出爱

and many moms get the morning off — 许多妈妈还能在早上休息——
