Nobody warns you how quietly lonely adult life can get.
As a kid, friends were just there, 小时候,朋友总是在身边的,
at school every day, on your street, effortless.
But as an adult, everyone scatters.
People move, get busy, have families,
and friendship suddenly takes real effort to keep alive.
For a while I felt like something
was wrong with me for finding it hard.
But I've learned it's just the shape of grown-up life,
and almost everyone feels it.
The difference is that the connections don't happen by accident anymore.
You have to build them on purpose.
So now I'm the one who sends the message,
makes the call, plans the dinner.
It's more effort than it used to be.
But the friendships I actually tend to are the ones that last.
