There's a specific kind of office friendliness 职场里有一种特别的“友善”，

that isn't really friendliness at all. 其实根本就不是真正的友善。

The big smile that doesn't reach the eyes. 笑得很灿烂，但眼里完全没有笑意；

The person who's warm to your face 当着你的面热情得不行，

and cool the moment you turn around. 可你一转身，态度立马就冷淡下来。

When I was younger, this confused me deeply. 年轻那会儿，这种事真的让我特别困惑。

I couldn't tell who actually liked me and who was just performing. 我分不清谁是真的待见我，谁又只是在演戏。

Now, I've mostly stopped trying to decode it. 现在，我基本懒得去琢磨这些了。

I've decided to just be genuinely decent to everyone 我决定就真心实意地善待每个人，

and not waste energy worrying about who's real. 不再浪费精力去纠结谁真谁假。

Here's the thing I've noticed. 我后来悟出了一个道理：

Over enough time, the fake friendliness always shows itself. 时间一长，装出来的友善总会露出马脚。

People reveal who they are eventually. 每个人到底是什么样，迟早都会显露出来的。

So I don't need to be a detective. 所以我也没必要去当什么侦探，

I just need to be consistent, 我只要做好自己、始终如一，

and let the truth of everyone else surface on its own. 其他人是真是假，自然会水落石出。
