There was a time I was so frustrated with my manager 有段时间我对我的主管真是烦透了,
that I seriously considered going straight to his boss. 甚至真的一度想过去找他的顶头上司告状。
The situation felt unfair, 当时就觉得太不公平了,
and I wanted someone with real power to hear me. 特别想让真正有实权的人听听我的想法。
In the end, I didn't, and I'm glad. 但最后我没这么干,现在想想真挺庆幸的。
Because going over someone's head is one of those moves 因为“越级”这种操作,
that can never be taken back. 一旦做了就彻底没有回头路了。
Even if you're completely right, 就算你百分之百占理,
it burns a bridge you might need for years. 也会彻底断了一条你可能好几年都要指望的后路。
What I did instead was ask my manager for a direct, 所以我换了个做法,直接找了我的主管,
honest conversation, just the two of us. 就我们两个人,敞开心扉好好聊了一次。
It was uncomfortable, but it actually fixed most of it. 虽然聊的过程挺尴尬的,但还真把大部分问题都给解决了。
I've learned that the dramatic move is rarely the wise one. 我算是明白了,搞那些轰轰烈烈的大动作往往不是什么明智之举。
Usually the braver, quieter path is just 通常来说,更勇敢、也更稳妥的做法,其实就是
talking to the person directly first. 先直接去找当事人好好谈谈。
