I once worked with someone who had a remarkable talent. 我以前共事过一个人，他有个特别绝的“本事”。

Whenever anything went wrong, it was somehow never his fault. 不管出了什么岔子，莫名其妙地总怪不到他头上。

There was always a reason, 他总能找到借口，

always another person or department to point at. 总能把锅甩给别人或者其他部门。

For a while, he seemed to get away with it completely. 有段时间，他看起来每次都能蒙混过关、全身而退。

Meanwhile, the people who said, that one's on me, 反倒是那些主动说“这事儿怪我”、

my mistake, actually earned more respect, not less. “是我的疏忽”的人，不仅没丢分，反而赢得了更多的尊重。

Owning your errors feels dangerous in the moment. 当场认错在那一刻确实让人觉得挺冒险的。

But in the long run, 但从长远来看，

being the person who takes responsibility is one 做一个敢于承担责任的人，

of the most powerful reputations you can build. 是你能为自己树立的最硬核的口碑之一。
