A business dinner is a strange thing, 商务饭局是个挺微妙的东西，

because it looks like a meal but it's really a performance. 看着像是在吃饭，其实却是一场表演。

Everyone is eating and laughing, but underneath, 大家表面上有说有笑，但暗地里，

deals are being felt out and impressions are being formed. 都在暗中试探合作意向，在心里给对方打分。

For a long time I hated them. 有很长一段时间我都特别讨厌这种饭局。

I could never relax, always calculating what to say, 我根本没法放松，脑子里总在盘算该说什么、

when to speak, how much to reveal. 什么时候开口、底牌该露多少。

But an older colleague once gave me good advice. 不过后来一位老同事给过我一个很好的建议。

He said, stop trying to close the deal at the table. 他说，别总想着在饭桌上把生意谈成。

Just be a decent person to share a meal with. 做个让人觉得一起吃顿饭挺舒服的人就行了。

And it changed everything. 而这句话彻底改变了一切。

When I stopped performing and just focused on being genuine 当我不再端着去表演，只专注于真诚待人、

and easy to talk to, 变得容易沟通相处时，

the business part actually got easier. 生意上的事反而变得顺利多了。

People do business with people they trust. 大家都是和自己信任的人做生意。

And trust is built over food, not over a sales pitch. 而信任是在一顿饭里建立起来的，不是靠推销话术。
