There's a certain type of coworker I've come to recognize. 有这么一种同事，我现在算是看明白了。

Silent in the meeting, 开会时一句话不说，

then full of strong opinions the moment it's over. 会刚一开完，想法立马比谁都多。

In the room, when it actually counts, 在会议室里、真正管用的时候，

they nod along and say nothing. 他们只跟着点头附和，啥也不提。

But by the coffee machine afterward, 可事后一到咖啡机旁边，

suddenly they think the whole plan is terrible. 他们就突然觉得整个方案都烂透了。

For a long time this frustrated me. 很长一段时间，这种事都让我挺恼火的。

Now I mostly feel sorry for it. 现在我更多只是觉得挺可悲的。

Real influence comes from being willing 真正的影响力，来自于你敢于

to say the hard thing in the room, 当着大家的面把刺耳的实话讲出来，

where it can actually change something. 因为只有在那个场合，才真正能起作用。

Complaining afterward is safe, 事后抱怨固然安全，

but it changes nothing and it slowly poisons the team. 但它什么也改变不了，还会慢慢毒害整个团队。

I've decided I'd rather be the person who speaks up awkwardly 我决定宁可做那个哪怕场面尴尬也要开口的人，

in the meeting than the one who's brave only in the hallway. 在会上敢说，也不做只敢在走廊里逞英雄的人。
