It felt unfair, watching them get noticed for their charm 看着他们单凭嘴甜会来事儿就处处受重视，

Flattery might get you attention in the short term, 拍马屁短期内确实能让人出风头，

but it's a shaky foundation. 但这根基太虚、根本站不住脚。

people don't turn to the smooth talker. 大家根本不会去找那些嘴皮子溜的人，

They turn to the one who quietly does good work. 大家指望的，永远是平时默默把活儿干好的人。

I'd rather be trusted than adored. 比起讨人喜欢，我更想被人信任。

It lasts longer. 因为靠谱，才走得更长久。
