该让孩子学什么

A parent asked me recently, only half joking, 最近有个家长半开玩笑地问我，

what she should even teach her kids anymore, 现在到底还能教孩子些什么，

if machines are going to do everything. 如果以后机器什么都能做的话。

It's a real question, and I don't have a perfect answer. 这是个很现实的问题，我也给不出完美的答案。

But I have a hunch. 但我有一种直觉。

I don't think it's about picking 我觉得关键不在于去挑出

the one job a computer can't do, 某一个电脑做不了的工作，

because that target keeps moving. 因为这个目标一直在变。

I think it's about the deeper things. 我觉得关键在于那些更深层的东西。

Learning how to think clearly. 学会如何清晰地思考。

How to be kind. 学会如何善待他人。

How to work with other people, 学会如何与人合作，

and pick yourself back up when things go wrong. 以及在遇到挫折时怎么重新站起来。

How to stay curious your whole life. 如何一辈子都保持好奇心。

Those skills have never gone out of date, 这些能力永远都不会过时，

no matter what technology arrives. 不管未来出现什么样的新技术。

Maybe the best thing we can teach 也许我们能教给

the next generation isn't a specific skill at all. 下一代最好的东西，根本就不是某项具体的技能。

It's how to keep learning. 而是怎么一直学下去。
