When I was young, saying no felt impossible. 年轻的时候,拒绝别人对我来说太难了。

I'd go along with it, terrified of being the odd one out. 我也硬着头皮跟着去,生怕自己显得不合群。
It took me years to learn that "no" is one of the most useful words there is. 花了好多年我才明白,学会说“不”到底有多管用。
The moment I could say it — calmly, 当我终于能心平气和地说出口——
without a long excuse — my life got easier. 不用找一堆借口的那一刻起,我的日子一下子轻松多了。
No, I won't cover for that. “不行,这事我不能帮你兜着。”

The people worth keeping respected me more for it, not less. 那些真正值得深交的人,反而因此更尊重我了。
