The strangest part of this new world is

that I can no longer fully trust my own eyes.

I'll see a photo online, a video,

a voice that sounds exactly like someone I know,

and I have to stop and ask, is this even real?

A year ago that question felt paranoid.

Now it feels necessary.

It's a little unsettling, honestly,

losing that automatic trust in what I see and hear.

But I've decided not to become cynical about everything.

Instead, I'm just learning to slow down

before I believe or share something.

To check, to think, to ask where it came from.

Maybe that's not such a bad habit to build anyway.

A little healthy doubt was probably always

wiser than believing everything at first glance.
