The repairs are done, 东西总算修完了，

and now comes the part I always forget to budget time for — 接着就到了我老是忘了留出时间的一步——

cleaning up the mess I made. 收拾自己搞出来的一地烂摊子。

I sweep up the sawdust and little bits of debris, 我把木屑和小碎渣扫成一堆，

and run the vacuum over the fine dust that settled on everything. 再用吸尘器把落得到处都是的细灰吸干净。

I gather up the leftover screws and spare parts and sort them back into the toolbox, 我把剩下的螺丝和零配件归拢好，分门别类放回工具箱，

each in its own compartment so I can actually find them next time. 每个格子各归各位，免得下次用的时候又找不着。

I coil up the extension cord and wrap a bit of tape around a frayed wire I noticed — 我把插线板的线卷好，看到电线磨破了一点皮，就顺手缠了圈胶带——

a job for another day. 这活儿留着改天再弄吧。

Wiping down my tools before I put them away is a habit my grandfather drilled into me: 工具收起来之前必须擦干净，这是我爷爷硬给我养成的习惯：

look after your tools, and they'll look after you. “你好好爱惜你的工具，它们也不会亏待你。”

Toolbox latched, floor clear, I finally sit down. 工具箱扣好，地上收拾利索，我终于能坐下来歇歇了。

Tired hands, but a good kind of tired. 手累得发酸，但这种累让人心里挺踏实的。
