The drawer where I keep my cables is pure chaos, 我放数据线的抽屉简直乱成一锅粥，

so today I bring order to it. 所以今天我打算好好整顿一下。

I pull out a tangled ball of cords and patiently work the knots loose, 我扯出一大团缠在一起的线，耐心地一点点解开，

one loop at a time. 一圈一圈慢慢拆。

I test each cable by plugging it in — this one's dead, 我把每根线都插上试了试——这根废了，

that one still works — and toss the broken ones. 那根还能用——坏掉的就统统扔了。

Then I coil each good cable neatly and fasten it with a little velcro strap so it stays put. 然后我把完好的线一根根卷得整整齐齐，用小魔术贴扎好免得散开。

I label a couple I always confuse, 有几根我老是搞混的，我还特意贴上了标签，

and lay them side by side in the drawer. 再一根根并排码进抽屉里。

Why do cables tangle themselves in a closed drawer? 抽屉明明关得好好的，这些线到底是怎么自己缠成一团的？

One of life's great mysteries. 真是人生未解之谜之一。

But there is real peace in opening a drawer and finding exactly what you need, 不过，一拉开抽屉就能立刻找到自己需要的东西，

ready to go. 拿起来就能直接用，感觉真的很舒心。

Coiled, labelled, sorted — no more digging through a nest of wires. 卷好、贴标、归类——再也不用在一堆烂线里瞎扒拉了。

Future-me, hunting for a charger in a hurry, will be grateful. 下次急着到处找充电器的时候，未来的我一定会感谢现在的自己。
