A few little things around the house have been bugging me, 家里有几处小毛病一直让我挺心烦的，

so I'm finally getting to them. 今天总算腾出空来收拾了。

First, the remote has been dying, 先是遥控器，老早就快没电了，

so I pop off the back cover and swap in a couple of fresh batteries — 我抠开后盖，换上两节新电池——

the right way round this time. 这回正负极总算没装反。

Then there's the bulb in the hallway that burned out last week; 接着是过道的灯泡，上周就烧坏了；

I twist the old one out and screw a new one in, 我把旧的拧下来，换上新的拧紧，

and just like that, there's light again. 一下子，屋里又亮堂起来了。

The bathroom door has been squeaking for days, 卫生间的门也吱扭吱扭响了好几天，

so I grab a little oil and work it into the hinge, 我找了点油滴在合页上，

swinging the door back and forth until it goes quiet. 来回开关几下，直到彻底没了动静。

None of these jobs takes more than a minute, 其实这些活儿哪样都用不了一分钟，

yet I keep putting them off for weeks. 可我却硬生生拖了好几个星期。

Funny how the small annoyances we live with are usually the easiest ones to fix. 说来也挺逗的，生活中那些让人别扭的小毛病，往往反而是最容易搞定的。

One less squeak, one more working light — 少了一声吱呀响，多了一盏亮着的灯——

the place already feels better. 整个家一下子感觉舒坦多了。
