The bin is full, 垃圾桶满了，

so I deal with it before it starts to smell. 我得趁着还没发臭赶紧收拾了。

I pull the drawstrings, tie the bag off tight, 拉上抽绳，把袋口扎紧，

and lift it out — carefully, 然后提出来——得小心点，

because the bottom always seems ready to split. 因为袋子底部总感觉随时会兜破。

I drop in a fresh liner and press it down around the edges so it sits snugly. 套上个新袋子，顺着桶边压实贴好。

Then comes the part I actually have to think about: sorting. 接下来才是真得费脑子的活儿：垃圾分类。

Paper and cans go in the blue bin, 废纸和易拉罐扔进蓝桶，

food scraps in the green one, 厨余垃圾扔进绿桶，

and only the rest in the trash. 剩下的才当普通垃圾扔掉。

I wheel the bins down to the curb, 我把垃圾桶推到路边，

since tomorrow is collection day, 因为明天是收垃圾的日子，

and line them up the way the truck likes them. 再按垃圾车方便收的方式排成一排。

It's a small chore, 虽然只是件小家务，

but getting the sorting right feels like doing my tiny part for the planet. 但认真分好类，就感觉自己也为地球尽了一份微薄之力。

Hands washed, kitchen fresh again, 洗完手，厨房又恢复了清爽，

and that's one more thing off the list. 待办清单上又搞定了一项。
