除尘擦拭

Dust has settled on just about everything, 家里到处都落了层灰，

so today I'm wiping it all down. 所以今天我打算彻底擦一遍。

I spray some cleaner onto the glass and wipe the windows in circles until they're streak-free and clear. 我往玻璃上喷了点清洁剂，打着圈擦拭窗户，直到擦得透亮、一点印子都没有。

Then I take a damp cloth and run it along the shelves, 然后我拿了块湿抹布，顺着架子擦过去，

the TV stand, the picture frames — 还有电视柜、相框——

you don't notice the dust until it's gone. 要不是擦干净了，平时还真注意不到原来落了灰。

For the awkward little gaps, 至于那些不好擦的小缝隙，

I use a feather duster and flick it over the blinds and the tops of the doors. 我就用鸡毛掸子扫了扫百叶窗和门顶上。

I even wipe down the light switches and door handles, 连开关面板和门把手我也都擦了一遍，

the spots everyone touches but nobody ever cleans. 这些地方人人都会碰，却谁也想不起去擦。

It's funny how a room can look tired just from a thin layer of dust, 说来也怪，房间只要落了薄薄一层灰，就会显得很没精神，

and how quickly it perks up once it's gone. 而一旦擦干净了，立刻又变得神清气爽。

I step back, and everything looks a little brighter, 我退后几步看看，一切似乎都更亮堂了，

a little more cared for. 也多了点被悉心打理过的感觉。
