Can I help you, madam? 女士，有什么能帮您的吗？

A woman in jeans stood at the window of an expensive shop. 一位穿牛仔裤的女人站在一家高档商店的橱窗前。

Though she hesitated for a moment, 虽然她犹豫了一下，

she finally went in and asked to see a dress that was in the window. 但最终还是走了进去，要求看橱窗里的一件裙子。

The assistant who served her did not like the way she was dressed. 接待她的店员不喜欢她的穿着打扮。

Glancing at her scornfully, 他轻蔑地瞥了她一眼，

he told her that the dress was sold. 告诉她那件裙子已经卖掉了。

The woman walked out of the shop angrily and decided to punish the assistant next day. 女人生气地走出商店，决定第二天给那个店员一个教训。

She returned to the shop the following morning, 第二天早上她又回到那家店，

dressed in a fur coat, 穿着一件毛皮大衣，

with a handbag in one hand and a long umbrella in the other. 一手拿着手提包，另一手拿着一把长伞。

After seeking out the rude assistant, 找到那个无礼的店员后，

she asked for the same dress. 她要求看同一件裙子。

Not realizing who she was, 店员没认出她是谁，

the assistant was eager to serve her this time. 这次他非常热情地招待她。

With great difficulty, 费了好大劲，

he climbed into the shop window to get the dress. 他爬进橱窗去拿那件裙子。

As soon as she saw it, 她一看到裙子，

the woman said she did not like it. 就说自己不喜欢。

She enjoyed herself, 她玩得很开心，

making the assistant bring almost everything in the window, 让店员把橱窗里几乎所有的东西都拿出来，

before finally buying the dress she had first asked for 最后才买下她最初要的那件裙子。
