The little prince landed on Earth, but at first he saw no one. 小王子降落在地球上，但起初他没有看到任何人。

He came down in the middle of a great desert, 他降落在一片广阔的沙漠中央，

on the empty sand under the stars. 在星空下空旷的沙地上。

where are all the people, 人们都在哪里呢，

he wondered. 他想。

It is a little lonely here. 这里有点寂寞。

Then he saw something move. 接着他看到有什么东西在动。

It was a snake, thin as a golden ribbon, resting on the sand. 那是一条蛇，细得像一根金色的丝带，正躺在沙地上。

Good evening, said the prince. 晚上好，小王子说。

What planet is this? 这是什么星球？

This is Earth, and this is Africa, the snake answered quietly. 这是地球，这里是非洲，蛇轻声回答。

Are there no people in the desert? 沙漠里没有人吗？

The desert is lonely, said the snake, 沙漠是寂寞的，蛇说，

but people can be lonely too, even in the middle of a crowd. 但人们也会寂寞，即使身处人群之中。

The prince looked up at the sky. 小王子抬头望着天空。

I wonder if the stars shine 我想知道星星闪烁，

The prince did not fully understand, 小王子没有完全明白，

but he would remember these words. 但他会记住这些话。
