All this time, my own story went on in the desert. 就在这段时间里，我自己的故事仍在沙漠中继续着。

By now, eight days had passed since my plane crashed, and my water was gone. 到现在，我的飞机坠毁已经八天了，我的水也喝完了。

As I listened to the little prince, I grew afraid, for we were both very thirsty. 听着小王子的话，我心里害怕起来，因为我们俩都渴极了。

I am thirsty too, the prince said. “我也渴了，”小王子说。

Let us go and look for a well. “咱们去寻找一口井吧。”

It seemed foolish to search for a well in an endless desert. 在一望无际的沙漠中寻找一口井，这似乎是愚蠢的。

Yet we started walking, and we walked for hours under the stars. 可是我们还是开始走了起来，在星空下走了好几个小时。

The desert is beautiful, the prince said softly. “沙漠是美丽的，”小王子轻声说。

And it was. 确实是这样。

what makes it beautiful he added is that somewhere it hides a well “让它变得美丽的，”他补充说，“是因为它在某个地方藏着一口井。”

at last as the sun rose we found one 终于，随着太阳升起，我们找到了一口。

and a rope 和一根绳子。

i pulled up the water and lifted it to his lips 我把水提了上来，把它送到他的唇边。

he drank with his eyes closed and it was sweet like a gift 他闭着眼睛喝着，那水甜美得像一份礼物。

this water was more than water 这水不仅仅是水。

it was born of our long walk together 它诞生于我们漫长的同行。

and the love in our hearts 和我们心中的爱。

That morning, I felt I had found a true friend, 那个早晨，我觉得自己找到了一个真正的朋友，

but the prince seemed quietly to be saying goodbye. 但小王子似乎在悄悄地告别。
