Someone had left it on the sidewalk, next to the trash. 有人把它扔在人行道上，就在垃圾堆旁边。

A wooden chair, with brown paint peeling off and one loose leg. 一把木头椅子，褐色的漆都起皮脱落了，有一条腿还松松垮垮的。

I walked past it. 我本来都走过去了。

Then I walked back. 接着又折了回来。

I carried it home on my shoulder. 我把它扛在肩上带回了家。

On Saturday, I sanded it. 周六那天，我拿砂纸打磨了它。

Under the ugly brown, there was pale, clean wood. 在那层难看的褐色底下，露出了干干净净的原木色。
