In my cupboard, on the top shelf, there's a set of plates. 在我家橱柜的最顶层,有一套盘子。

We've used them four times in nine years. 九年里,我们总共才用过四次。

We ate leftover rice by candlelight, and we talked for two hours. 我们就着烛光吃着剩米饭,聊了整整两个小时。

I'd been waiting for an occasion good enough for those plates. 我以前总在等一个配得上这套盘子的特别日子。

We were the occasion. 其实,我们自己就是那个最好的理由。

It took me nine years to notice. 我用了整整九年,才明白过来。
