想飞的乌龟

A tortoise was tired of crawling on the ground. 有只乌龟在地上爬腻了。

Every day, he watched the birds flying high in the sky. 他每天都看着鸟儿在天空中高高飞翔。

"That's the life I want," he said. “那才是我想要的生活，”他说。

So he asked an eagle to teach him to fly. 于是他找来一只老鹰教他飞。

"You don't have wings," said the eagle. “你连翅膀都没有，”老鹰说。

"Flying isn't for you." “你根本不适合飞。”

But the tortoise kept asking, day after day. 但乌龟还是一天又一天地求它。

He even promised the eagle all the treasure in the sea. 他甚至许诺把海里所有的财宝都给老鹰。

At last, the eagle picked him up and carried him high above the clouds. 最后，老鹰抓起他，把他带到了云层高处。

"Now fly!" “现在飞吧！”

said the eagle, and let go. 老鹰说完就松开了爪子。

The tortoise fell like a stone and landed hard on the rocks. 乌龟像块石头一样直往下掉，重重地砸在岩石上。
