A farmer went to check on his goose one morning and found something strange in her nest. 一天早上，一个农夫去看自家的鹅，发现鹅窝里有个奇怪的东西。

It was an egg, yellow and very heavy. 那是一个蛋，金黄色的，而且特别沉。

It was made of gold! 它居然是金子做的！

The next morning, there was another one. 第二天早上，窝里又多了一个金蛋。

Every day, the goose laid one golden egg, 每天，这只鹅都会下一个金蛋，

and the farmer slowly became rich. 农夫也慢慢富了起来。

But the richer he got, the more he wanted. 但他越有钱，想要的就越多。

"One egg a day is too slow," he said. “一天下一个也太慢了，”他说，

"There must be a lot of gold inside her. “它肚子里肯定有很多金子。

I'll take it all at once." 我要一次性全拿出来。”

So he killed the goose and cut her open. 于是他杀了那只鹅，把它的肚子剖开了。
