It was a hot summer day, 那是个大热天,

and a fox was walking through a garden. 一只狐狸正穿过果园。

He was very thirsty. 它渴得要命。

Then he saw some grapes hanging high above his head. 这时,它看到头顶高处挂着几串葡萄。

They looked sweet and juicy. 看着又甜又多汁。

"Perfect," he said. “太棒了,”它说。

He stepped back, ran, and jumped. 它往后退了几步,助跑,用力一跳。

He missed. 没够着。

He tried again, and again, and again. 它试了一次又一次。

Each time, the grapes were just a little too high. 可每次就差那么一点点,葡萄挂得实在太高了。

At last, tired and hot, he gave up. 最后,它又累又热,只能放弃了。

He walked away with his nose in the air. 它昂着头走开了。

"I didn't want them anyway," he said. “反正我本来也不想要,”它说。

"I'm sure they're sour." “肯定酸得很。”

It's easy to say you don't want the things you can't get. 得不到的东西,说不想要总是很容易的。
