A lion was sleeping in the sun when a little mouse ran across his nose. 一只狮子正在大太阳底下睡觉，突然一只小老鼠从他的鼻子上跑了过去。
The lion woke up and caught her under his huge paw. 狮子醒了过来，一把用大爪子按住了它。
"Please let me go," cried the mouse. “求求你放了我吧，”小老鼠哭着喊道。
"One day, I'll help you." “总有一天，我会帮上你的忙的。”
The lion laughed. 狮子笑了起来。
How could a tiny mouse ever help a lion? 这么小的一只老鼠，怎么可能帮得上大狮子呢？
But he was in a good mood, so he let her go. 不过他当时心情挺好，就把小老鼠给放了。
A few weeks later, hunters caught the lion in a strong net. 几个星期后，猎人们用一张结实的大网罩住了狮子。
He pulled and roared, but he couldn't get out. 他又扯又吼，可怎么也挣脱不出来。
The mouse heard him and came running. 小老鼠听到了吼声，急忙跑了过来。
She chewed through the ropes, one by one, until he was free. 她一根接一根地咬断了绳子，直到狮子彻底脱困。
Even a small friend can turn out to be a great friend. 哪怕再弱小的朋友，也能成为极大的帮手。
