I got on the train with a plan. 我上火车时本来是做好打算的。
Six hours, a window seat, 六个小时的车程,一个靠窗的座位,
and a thick book I'd been wanting to read for a year. 还有一本我想读想了一整年的厚书。
I opened the book as we left the station. 车一出站,我就翻开了书。
We passed the backs of houses first. 一开始,车窗外掠过的是一栋栋房子的后背。
Then the city ended, and there were fields, 然后城市到了尽头,眼前换成了田野,
and a river that stayed with us for a long time, 还有一条一路伴着我们前行的河流,

That window only had one showing. 但那扇窗外的风景,就只放映这么一回。
