A friend once told me 以前有个朋友跟我说过,
that all my little rituals were just fuss.
The morning coffee, the handwritten cards, the flowers on the table.
He said none of it actually changes anything,
and in a way, he's right.
The coffee doesn't taste better because I drank it slowly.
But I think he was measuring the wrong thing.
These rituals were never meant to be useful.
They're there to make ordinary life feel worth paying attention to.
Without them, the days just pile up, fast and forgettable.
The fuss, as he called it, 他口中的‘瞎讲究’,
is how I tell myself that this moment matters.
Maybe that's sentimental.
But I'd rather notice my days than rush past them.
If caring about small things is foolish,
then I'm happy to be a fool.
