I have a confession.
I've watched about fifty videos on how to draw,
and I've barely drawn anything at all.
It's a trap I keep falling into.
Watching a tutorial feels like progress.
You nod along, you understand everything, you feel productive.
But your hand never actually touches the paper.
I have three notebooks full of notes and almost no real drawings.
At some point I realized I was collecting information
instead of building a skill.
Watching someone else do it a hundred times teaches your eyes,
but not your hands.
So I made a rule.
For every video I watch,
I have to spend twice as long actually doing the thing, badly.
It's uncomfortable.
But that's the only place the learning ever really happens.
