We live in a world obsessed with learning things fast.
Every ad promises fluent in three months,
or master this in thirty days.
And for a while, 有那么一阵子,
that pressure made me feel like I was failing just
because I was slow.
But I've made peace with being a slow learner.
I take longer than most people to pick things up.
I have to repeat things, go back, 我得不断重复、倒回去重看,
practice the basics again and again.
For years I saw that as a weakness.
Now I think it might be a strength.
The things I learn slowly, I seem to keep.
The stuff I crammed quickly always vanished just as fast.
There's no prize for learning something in record time.
The only thing that really matters is that, 唯一真正重要的是,
eventually, you actually learn it.
