During the war, 战争期间，

King Alfred was hiding on a small island in a river. 阿尔弗雷德国王躲在河里的一座小岛上。

One day, all his men went out fishing, 有一天，他的手下都出去捕鱼了，

and he was left with the queen and one servant. 身边只剩下王后和一个仆人。

Around noon, a beggar came to the door and asked for food. 中午时分，一个乞丐找上门来讨吃的。

"One loaf of bread, sir, and a little wine." “就一条面包了，陛下，还有一点点酒。”

That night, the king had a strange dream. 那天晚上，国王做了一个奇怪的梦。

An old man stood in a bright light. 一位老人站在一片强光之中。

Tomorrow morning, blow your horn three times. 明天早晨，吹响你的号角三次。

In the morning, Alfred blew his horn. 到了早晨，阿尔弗雷德吹响了号角。

By nine o'clock, five hundred soldiers stood around him. 到了九点钟，五百名士兵已经聚集在他身边。

Within a week, he had his kingdom back. 不到一周，他就夺回了自己的王国。
