In good light by the window, I do a few little touch-ups. 趁着窗边光线好，我稍微收拾打理了一下。

I pluck a couple of stray eyebrow hairs with tweezers, 拿镊子拔掉几根杂乱的眉毛，

wincing a bit with each one. 每拔一根都忍不住咧一下嘴。

I tidy the shape with a tiny pair of scissors, 再用小剪刀修修眉形，

trimming the longer hairs so they lie flat. 把太长的剪短，好让它们服服帖帖的。

A few fine hairs on my upper lip I clean up with a small facial razor, 嘴唇上方的几根小绒毛，用修脸的小刮刀刮干净，

quick and painless. 利索又不疼。

I notice a rough patch on my chin and gently smooth it away too. 看到下巴有点粗糙的小地方，也顺手轻轻打理平整。

These are the tiny details nobody else would ever notice, 这些都是别人压根儿注意不到的小细节，

but somehow I always do. 但我自己总能一眼看见。

Grooming, in the end, 打理自己这事儿，说到底，

is mostly for how it makes you feel, not for anyone else. 主要是图个自己心里舒服，又不是给别人看的。

A minute of fiddling, and everything looks just that little bit neater. 随手捣鼓这么一分钟，看着就显得清爽利落了不少。

Tweezers away, mirror fogged with my breath — 收好镊子，镜子上已经呵上了一层薄雾——

small things done, and I feel oddly accomplished. 虽然都是些微不足道的小事，心里却莫名挺有成就感。
