An old lion was too weak to hunt, 有一只老狮子身体太虚弱，捕不动猎了，

so he came up with a clever plan. 于是他想出了一个好主意。

He lay down in his cave and told everyone he was dying. 他躺在自己的洞穴里，跟大伙儿说自己快不行了。

One by one, the animals came to say goodbye. 动物们一个接一个地赶来跟他道别。

The sheep went in. 绵羊进去了。

The goat went in. 山羊进去了。

The calf went in. 小牛进去了。

Then, strangely, the lion started to feel much better. 接着，说来也怪，狮子的身体居然好转了许多。

He came to the door of his cave and saw a fox, 他走到洞口，看见了一只狐狸，

standing at a safe distance. 正远远地站在安全的地方。

"My dear fox," he said. “我亲爱的狐狸，”狮子说，

"Why haven't you come to visit me?" “你怎么没来看看我呀？”

"I was going to," said the fox. “我本来打算去的，”狐狸说，

"But then I noticed the footprints outside your cave. “但我注意到了你洞穴外面的脚印。

I see a lot of them going in. 我看见好多脚印都是往里走的，

I don't see a single one coming out." 可一个出来的都没瞧见。”

And she turned and walked away. 说完，她转身就走开了。
