I found a sentence last week that stopped me. 上周我看到一句话，让我整个人愣住了。

It was in a novel, in the middle of an ordinary page. 它在一本小说里，就在很普通的一页中间。

Normally, I'd take a photo. 要是平时，我肯定就拍张照了。

I never look at them. 但我拍了也从来不看。

This time, I took out a pen and a card, 这一次，我拿出了笔和一张卡片，

and copied it by hand. 一笔一划抄了下来。

It's slow, writing by hand. 手写确实挺慢的。

I had to go one word at a time, 我得一个词一个词地写，

and look back at the book, 还得时不时抬头看一眼书，

and with each word, I was thinking it again. 每写一个词，脑子里就跟着过一遍。

By the end, I didn't just have the sentence. 写到最后，我收获的就不只是一句话了。

I understood it. 我是真把它读懂了。

Typing is fast. 打字倒是挺快的。

The words go from the page 但那些字只是从书页搬到了屏幕上，

to the screen without passing through me. 根本没过我的脑子。

I put the card on my desk. 我把那张卡片放在了书桌上。

I've read it every morning this week. 这周我每天早上都会读一遍。

It's a little different each day. 每天读的感觉都有点不一样。

Or I am. 或者说，是我变了。

I won't tell you the sentence. 我是不会告诉你那句话是什么的。

It was mine. 那是属于我的。
