For a long time, 很长一段时间里,

all my thoughts about this new technology were anxious ones. 一想到这项新技术,我满脑子都是焦虑。

But lately I've been trying, on purpose, to notice the other side. 但最近我一直在刻意去看它的另一面。

A machine helped doctors spot an illness early enough to treat it. 一台机器帮医生及早发现了疾病,得以开展治疗。

Someone learning a new language has infinite patience to practice with. 学新语言的人,也有了充满耐心的练习伙伴。

These are not small things. 这些可都不是小事。

I don't want to be naive about the real dangers, 我不想天真地忽视真正的危险,

and there are plenty. 而且这种危险确实不少。

But I also don't want fear 但我也不希望恐惧
