I have one simple rule now
that keeps my home from slowly filling up again.
One in, one out.
Whenever something new comes into the house, something old has to leave.
I buy a new shirt,
an old one goes to the donation bag.
A new book comes in, one I've already read goes out.
It sounds strict, but it's actually freeing.
It forces a small, honest question every time I want something.
Is this new thing worth more 这件新东西,
to me than something I already own?
Usually that pause is enough to stop a pointless purchase.
And when I do bring something in,
my home stays exactly as full as it was, never more.
The clutter never gets a chance to quietly creep back in.
