A major power outage has left large parts of the city in the dark for several hours. 一场严重的大停电让城市大部分区域陷入黑暗好几个小时。

The fault, which began this afternoon, affected homes, 今天下午发生的故障波及了居民住宅、

businesses, and traffic lights, according to the power company. 沿街商家和交通信号灯，电力公司这样表示。

Engineers were sent out immediately to find and fix the problem. 技术人员第一时间赶去现场排查和抢修。

Traffic was disrupted as signals failed at busy intersections. 繁忙路口的红绿灯失灵，导致交通陷入混乱。

Some trains were delayed, 部分列车出现了晚点，

and a number of shops were forced to close early. 不少商铺也被迫提前关门打烊。

The company said the outage was caused by a fault at a substation. 电力公司称，这次停电是变电站故障引起的。

Power has now been restored to most areas, 目前大部分区域已经恢复供电，
