A huge Persian army was marching toward Greece. 一支庞大的波斯大军正向希腊进发。

There was only one way in by land: 走陆路只有一条路可进：

a narrow path between the mountains and the sea. 那是夹在山与海之间的一条狭窄小道。

Leonidas, king of Sparta, went there with three hundred men. 斯巴达国王列奥尼达带着三百名勇士赶到了那里。

Someone warned them. 有人提醒他们：

"The Persians have so many soldiers that their arrows will hide the sun." “波斯人的军队遮天蔽日，射出的箭都能把太阳挡住。”
