After a long day around people, 和人打了一整天交道之后,
all I want is to be completely alone,
and I've stopped apologizing for it.
For a long time I worried this made me cold,
or a bad friend.
Everyone else seemed to want more time together, more plans, more noise,
and I was the one quietly
craving an empty apartment and total silence.
But solitude isn't the same as loneliness.
When I spend an evening alone,
reading or just sitting with my own thoughts,
I don't feel lonely at all.
I feel like myself again.
That quiet time is how I refill,
so that the next time I'm with people,
I actually have something to give.
Being alone doesn't mean I don't love people.
It's often the very thing that lets me.
