It was still dark when the passengers gathered in the inn yard, 旅客们在客栈院子里集合的时候，天还没亮，

Ten of them squeezed into the big coach, 十个人挤进了那辆大马车，

and at last it lurched forward, crunching slowly through the drifts. 车子总算猛地一晃动了起来，压着厚厚的积雪咯吱咯吱地慢慢往前挪。

As daylight crept in, the travelers began to study one another. 天色渐渐亮堂起来，车上的人开始互相打量。
