I settle in at my desk, ready to start work. 我在桌前坐好，准备开始干活了。

I press the power button and wait for the screen to blink to life. 按下电源键，等屏幕亮起来。

I plug in a USB drive to grab the files I need, 插上U盘拷一下需要的文件，

and connect my wireless mouse, which of course needs new batteries. 连上无线鼠标，果不其然，又该换电池了。

The monitor is a touch too low, 显示器稍微有点偏低，

so I adjust the stand until it's level with my eyes — 我就调了调支架，直到刚好跟眼睛平齐——

my neck will thank me later. 待会儿脖子肯定会感谢我的。

The screen is covered in dust and fingerprints, 屏幕上全是灰尘和指纹，

so I give it a gentle wipe with a soft cloth. 拿块软布顺手擦了擦。

I put on my headphones, pull up my to-do list, 戴上耳机，打开待办清单，

and take a breath before the emails start pouring in. 在邮件铺天盖地涌来之前，先深吸一口气。

Funny how just setting up your space properly makes the work ahead feel a little more manageable. 挺奇妙的，光是把周围收拾妥当，接下来的工作感觉就没那么让人头大了。
