The moment my dog sees the leash, 我家狗一看到牵引绳，

he loses his mind with excitement. 就兴奋得快疯了。

I clip it onto his collar, grab a couple of poop bags, 我把绳子扣在他项圈上，顺手抓上几个拾便袋，

and stuff some treats in my pocket. 再往口袋里塞点小零食。

Out the door he goes, pulling ahead, nose down, 门一开他就冲了出去，一路往前拽，鼻子贴着地，

sniffing every single lamppost like it's breaking news. 把每个路灯柱都闻个遍，跟在看什么特大头条新闻似的。

When he does his business, 等他拉完了，

I bag it up and tie a knot — 我就用袋子装好系紧——

you always carry bags, that's just being a decent neighbour. 随身带袋子，这本就是做个好邻居的基本修养。

At the corner, I have him sit and wait, 到了拐角处，我让他坐下等会儿，

then reward him with a treat and a good pat on the head. 然后奖励他一块零食，再好好摸摸他的头。

There's a simple joy in watching a dog experience the world — 看着狗狗探索这个世界，有种很单纯的快乐——

everything is new, everything is thrilling. 一切都是新鲜的，一切都让他兴奋不已。

By the end of the loop we're both a little tired and a lot happier. 溜达完这一圈，我俩虽然都有点累，但心情可好多了。

Back home, I unclip the leash, 回到家，我解开牵引绳，

refill his water, and he flops down, content. 把水碗添满，他就心满意足地往地上一趴。
