Winter is cold. 冬天很冷。

People dress in heavy coats. 人们穿上厚外套。

They wear hats and gloves. 他们戴帽子和手套。

Scarves keep the face warm, and boots keep the toes from freezing. 围巾让脸暖和，靴子让脚趾不冻僵。

Winter is dark. 冬天很黑。

The days are short, and the nights are long. 白天短，夜晚长。

Some older people travel south to sunny places and return north in the spring. 一些老年人会去南方阳光充足的地方过冬，春天再回北方。

Many birds fly south for the winter, too, and return north in the spring. 很多鸟也会南飞过冬，春天再回北方。

Winter means snow. 冬天意味着下雪。
