Every night, I'm the last one awake. 每天晚上，我总是最后一个睡的。

First, the front door. 先去大门那儿。

I turn the lock and push once, to be sure. 转动锁芯，再推一下，确认锁好了。

Then the lights, one by one. 然后关灯，一盏一盏地关。

Kitchen. 厨房。

Living room. 客厅。

Hallway. 走廊。

Each click makes the house a little darker and a little quieter. 每按下一声开关，家里就又暗了一分，静了一分。

I do the stairs in the dark. 我摸黑走上楼梯。

I don't need to see. 不用开灯看。

My feet know every step. 我的脚熟悉每一个台阶。

The third one creaks, so I skip it. 第三级会吱呀响，所以我跨了过去。

I look into the children's room. 我往孩子们的房间看了一眼。

Two shapes, breathing. 两个小小的身影，呼吸平稳。
