Julius Caesar was the most powerful man in Rome. 尤利乌斯·恺撒曾是罗马最有权势的人。

Once, he was traveling through a tiny village in the mountains. 有一次，他途经一座群山里的小村庄。

All fifty villagers came out to watch him pass. 全村仅有的五十个人全都跑出来看他走过。

In front of them stood their mayor, looking extremely proud. 村长站在队伍最前面，满脸都是骄傲的神色。

Caesar's officers laughed. 恺撒的军官们见状笑了起来。

"Look at that little man, so pleased with himself." “瞧那个小人物，得意成什么样了。”

"He has every reason to be proud," he said. “他完全有理由骄傲，”恺撒说。

Another time, he was crossing the sea in a small boat when a violent storm began. 还有一次，他坐着一艘小船渡海，途中突然刮起了暴风雨。

The captain dropped his oars and fell to his knees. 船长吓得扔掉了船桨，跪倒在地。

"We're finished!" “我们全完了！”

he cried. 他哭喊道。

"This boat can't sink. “这条船沉不了。

You're carrying Caesar." 你船上载的可是恺撒。”

It didn't sink. 船真的没沉。
