雨雪出门

I peek out the window and — of course — it's pouring. 我往窗外瞄了一眼——果不其然，正下着瓢泼大雨。

So I gear up before heading out. 于是出门前我好好武装了一番。

I pull on my rain boots, grab my umbrella from the stand, 我蹬上雨靴，从伞架上拿了伞，

and stuff a spare pair of socks in my bag, 又往包里塞了双备用袜子，

just in case. 以防万一。

I zip my jacket right up to my chin and pull the hood over my head. 我把外套拉链一直拉到下巴，再把兜帽套在头上。

Outside, I pop the umbrella open, angle it into the wind, 到了外头，我一把撑开伞，迎着风斜斜地挡着，

and pick my way around the puddles. 小心翼翼地绕开一个个小水坑。

When I finally reach the bus shelter, 好不容易走到公交候车亭，

I give the umbrella a good shake to knock off the water before folding it down. 我使劲甩了甩伞上的雨水，才把它收起来。

There's something oddly cozy about being warm and dry while the rain hammers down around you — 外面大雨倾盆，身上却干爽又暖和，这种感觉莫名有种惬意——

like the weather can't touch you. 就好像这鬼天气根本奈何不了你似的。

A little preparation, and even a miserable morning feels manageable. 只要稍微做点准备，再糟糕的早晨也觉得挺好应付的。
