Earning my high school diploma would mean the world to me. 获得高中毕业证书对我来说意义重大。

With it, I could finally chase the career I've wanted 有了它，我终于可以追求我一直想要的职业了

since I was 12, 从我12岁起，

As a kid, I dreamed about computers all the time. 小时候，我总是梦想着电脑。

I wanted to program them, fix them, know everything about them. 我想编程它们，修理它们，了解关于它们的一切。

But in high school, I stopped paying attention. 但在高中时，我开始不认真了。

I skipped class. 我逃课了。

I thought school didn't matter. And eventually, I was kicked out. 我以为学校不重要。最终，我被开除了。

I figured I'd just go to work. 我心想我直接去工作就行了。

But without a diploma, the only jobs I could find were low-paying ones. 但没有毕业证书，我能找到的只有低薪工作。

I did whatever I could to get by. 我做任何能维持生计的工作。

To work with computers, I need college. And for college, I need a diploma. 要从事电脑工作，我需要上大学。而要上大学，我需要毕业证书。

So now I'm back in class, working toward it. 所以现在我回到了课堂，为之努力。

I lost a lot of time being sure that school didn't matter. 我因为确信学校不重要而浪费了很多时间。

But it is not too late to begin again. 但重新开始还不算太晚。

And this time, I know exactly what I am working for. 而这一次，我清楚地知道我在为什么而努力。
