I've been reading the life story of a writer I love. 我最近在读一位我很喜欢的作家的生平故事。

She's famous now. 她现在很有名了。

I expected to enjoy the success chapters. 我本以为自己会喜欢看她功成名就的那些篇章。

I didn't fold those pages. 但我没有折起那些页。

I folded chapter nine. 我折了第九章。

In chapter nine, she is forty years old. 在第九章里,她四十岁。

She has written three novels, and nobody wants them. 她写了三部小说,却无人问津。

She works in a hospital laundry. 她在一家医院的洗衣房打工。

Every night she comes home 每天晚上回到家,

and writes for one hour 她都会写上一个小时,

I can't see my chapter ten either. 我也看不到自己的第十章在哪里。

But neither could she. 但当时的她也看不到。

And she kept the table. 可她留住了那张书桌。

I folded the corner so I could find it again, 我折起那一页的角,好在难熬的夜晚,

on the bad nights. 能随时翻回来看看。
