I used to hand out compliments like small talk. 我以前夸人就跟随口寒暄一样。

Empty little phrases I barely meant. 全是一些不走心的客套话。

And I noticed they never really landed. 后来我发现,大家根本没把这些话往心里去。

Then I started paying attention to the compliments 后来我开始留意那些
